WinVIS is good at merging PDF documents. For example, we use it extensively in the calculation module for creating and e-mailing quotations, including attachments. This module also contains an option that you can check to automatically remove unintentional blank pages from the PDF document. We have also placed this function in an independent program. This program has also been made bilingual (Dutch and English).
Introduction Sometimes it can be very annoying that after a lot of work you find out that there is still an uninten-tional blank page somewhere in your PDF document. Of course there are relatively expensive programs with which you can still remove these pages manu-ally or you can perhaps still adjust your source file. Our WinVIS program works intensively with ar-chives and (pdf) documents and we have developed a function to remove blank pages from a PDF in a fully automated manner. We have decided to made this available as an independent program for any-one who wants to use it.
How does it work? Click on the orange button and select a PDF file. By default, you start in “My Documents”, but you can also select another folder and choose a PDF file there. After you have chosen a PDF you will see the file name.
You can see the number of pages in the progress bar. We have also chosen that we want to see the checked and cleaned PDF on the screen as soon as it is ready. Now click on the green “Start” button to continue.
PDF documents up to 100 pages are processed in one go. Larger files are cut into parts of 100 pages (plus remainder) and reassembled after processing.
The program is bilingual, you can select the language with the flags at the top right. The language setting is saved by the program. The same applies to whether or not you want to open the PDF after processing.
Large files can take a while to process. After all, the program checks per page whether there is text and/or whether it contains an image. Splitting large files and putting them back together also takes a while. How long it takes all in all depends on the speed of your computer.

Upon successful processing, the original PDF document is renamed to …-original.pdf. The processed document is saved with the name of the original document. If everything is to your liking, you can delete the “-original.pdf” document if you wish.
